All these paragraphs are about skating. First topic is about skateboarding and how I dislike it. Second topic is about scooters and how I like riding on them. Third topic is about bikes and how I want to ride bikes. All these paragraphs are about a level of fun for me.

This is all about skateboards. I do not like riding skateboards, but I like watching skateboarding. I do not know what the tricks are called but I know a lot of the tricks like grinding & drop ins. Those are all that I know. But what I think is fun about skating is letting others watch and be impressed by you. It might not seem too exciting to people but to some people it is. What excites me is watching somebody do a new trick. It helps others become stronger and healthier sometimes, but to me it helps earn electronic time. Skating is good exercise too, it helps you build your muscles but sometimes helps you get better at skating too. I have skated many times but I was bad, I liked to skate when I did. Now I hate to skate. Skating is good for the human body. Especially it helps build up bones and give us stronger muscles... My story is about how I hate to skate. I love biking and riding my scooter. I went to the skatepark and I brought my skateboard.  I thought it would be fun. My Dad went to a bench and I went skating, about 5 minutes later I was coming up to my Dad until a skater was skating on his way and he crashed into me. It hurt so bad that I never skated again.

This is all about scooters. I personally love riding scooters. There are a lot of tricks a lot like a skateboarding but they're a little bit different. I have been riding scooters for about 2 years. There are a lot of things that I like most about scooters, like they're easy to control. Tricks are a lot easier to do with a scooter then a bike or a skateboard because they have a metal rim so they slide easily. Some are good for skateparks and some are good for just cruising. I personally like scooters that go on skateparks. I've learned how to drop in and land on my wheels when I jump out. I want to learn how to grind and drop in a big pool but all I can do is drop in a tiny pool. What inspired me about doing scooters instead of bikes is that I could have more control and it's smaller so it's easier to do stuff. I am 10 years old and I know how to drop in and drop out. I am not that good at doing stuff like that but I think that I am okay for my age. I have seen a really tall teenager that played football and he didn't know how to do a drop in. He had a cruiser but he liked to go to the skatepark with his skateboard but he brought his Cruiser instead. I love skate park so I have no problem doing a scooter at all. besides it is the best thing in the world. I sometimes like to go to the skatepark on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday because I am homeschooled.

This picture of a trick scooter is a typical trick scooter and doesn't have a thing that you can adjust it with. The difference between a trick scooter and a junior trick scooter is that once it's not made from Razor. 2 it has a thinner bottom. 3 it doesn't have rims so it's hard to slide down with. And before it is a lot smoother.

This is all about bikes. I love bikes. I have thought on Wednesday May 22 that I should do bikes instead of scooters. I have been inspired with four YouTube videos. One has inspired me do lots of tricks on a bike. Two has inspired me to try doing other things with a bike. Three has made me think that I should kind of make a ramp at my house. Four has made me think about doing some obstacle courses. I have loved bikes for a very long time but I like scooters too so it's hard to pick. But I have decided today on May 22nd that I will be doing bikes from now on. I haven't seen that many people bike for but the people that I have done lots of tricks. I have never seen anybody grind but I have seen people do drop-ins before. I think that they are easy but I have talked to somebody that does ride bikes and he said grinds are the hardest thing to do. Or at least that's what he said. I have five reasons why I want to ride a bike. One I want to learn how stable of bike is to do tricks. Two I want to know how to do simple tricks for now. Three I want to learn and talk to people. Four then I want to do harder tricks. Five I want to be really good.  This is a YouTube video is of people who do obstacle courses on bikes and many other things. https://youtu.be/O6bTKDYdJbc https://youtu.be/QuEGxyjWKL4

https://youtu.be/yZofrLyhyFs https://youtu.be/zkIbTkjgjK8.

In conclusion, out of all of the fun they have, I have learned that I just liked scooters but love bikes and I have a new interest in bikes because I have and I am scared of skateboards because my story. The second one is about scooters and how how I think they are fun but they are getting a little bit easy for me. The third one is about bikes, because I have a new interest of doing the bikes instead of scooters so I am looking forward to new adventures with with bikes at at a lot of my local skate parks.

Aikido sword work

Got his yellow belt last weekend and asked to join the advanced class so proud of this kiddo!!!

Rock hunting lesson

Kinda! Lol... Tilden taught us all how to skip rocks, and we experimented with how the angle of the rock and flow of the river effect the skipping. We found a rock that floats, too!
We also talked about the ethics of foraging. 😊

Found lots of agates, too!

The bluebird asked him," why is there a blue bird with a black wing?" He told her that he was a red-winged blackbird. So he took over the baby for a while. But only this time it was a black bird with a blue wing. so they got twice as much as worms feed them. but then a cat climbed a tree to where the nest was. He started pecking at cat. the cat started climb down the tree until he was so scratched up that he fell. He hit so hard on the ground that he couldn't run away. he walked to a house with a cat door. He climbed inside, his body tender. He was looking up the windows several times till he stopped looking out the window for that day. Next day does owner had a gun and was pointing at the nest. He shot three times at the nest. Hit hit Miss and then the last time hit the bird. The end.

Writing - dictated and edited by adding adjectives

Tilden is working hard on graduating to more interesting writing - more adjectives.  We've also pulled back on electronics and pushed more colorful, action-based drawing every day.  He's reluctant and needing more inspiration.  Hoping more sun soon will open up those inspirational pathways.  Also asking him to read more poetry when he's done with the latest Harry Potter novel.

There was a loving and kind boy. He loved to draw. Especially funny dinosaurs, terrifying dragons, weird people and cool comics. He was only five years old so he wasn't that impressive. He had one annoying brother, two wacko sisters and a Busy mother and a favorited father. Their names were Peter (the favorited dad.) Tom (the annoying brother.) Cindy (one of the wacko sisters.) Jenelle (the other silly sister.) Abby (the Busy mom.) Then Bob (the boy.) One day while Cindy, Jenelle and Abby were cooking crazily  The boys were barbecuing and playing games, because it was their grandma's birthday and she loved barbecue Beef and baked cookies.

Writing - dictating 30 sentences

Things are getting more creative as the days continue to produce stories.  Editing is definitely slipping and he's seeing where typing it out offers greater opportunity to provide stories with less errors.

Writing - typed story

Smaller story since typing requires more processing.  Lots of font shifts.  No more issues with punctuation.  But baby sentences will need to mature.  And it will need to go faster than the two hours this took - some goofing off.  Still...  I like the progress toward TYPED STORIES.

There was a teenager. The teenager was 18. The teenager wanted to get his driver's licence. He had many friends. A lot of them already had cars. So he asked his mom for permission to use the old rusty car. She said,"yes." So he got the keys. He started up the car and went to driver's ed. When he got there there were a lot of kids already signed up. So he was in the back row. The teacher talked for about an hour and a half. When he got in line he was sucking on his thumb. He was so scared he almost wet his pants. The first person failed because he crashed into a post. It was his turn. He got inside the car he started the engine and he drove. He drove very slowly. When it was a 25 he drove a 20. Now it was time for him to park. He found an easy parking place. He slowed down the car and he was going into the parking place. He almost hit a curb but he stopped. He shut his eyes for hope the person next to him said, "you passed."

There was a boy. The boy's name was Sobby.  Sobby was kind. He was loving. He was nurturing. But he was always sad. One day,  while he was riding his bike, he tripped on a rock. His bike flipped in the air. He scarred his knee really bad. So he went back to his house. When he got there his mother was worried sick about him because he was gone for a day. It would take an hour or so on his bike but he walked because his knee hurt really bad. His mother got some rubbing alcohol and a bandage. The rubbing alcohol hurt really bad. It felt like when he scarred his knee. When she put the bandage on it felt better a little bit. When he got to the hospital all they wanted to do is just make sure he was okay. But he broke his leg. So they put a cast on it and they got a wheelchair for him. So his parents bought the wheelchair. The nurse wheeled him out to the car. His dad put him in the backseat. His mom put the wheelchair in the trunk and headed home. While they were driving they asked him how he got all the way to their house. He said, "I just walked." So when they got home his mom took the wheelchair out of the trunk. But his dad lifted him up and onto the wheelchair. When he got into the house he went to the kitchen. He got an apple.

Writing sample - 3 weeks into focused day-after-day writing practice - “Talking animals”

Tilden has been focusing on writing stories.  He's been practicing grammar, punctuation and sorry flow.  He's coming along in big ways.  In just three weeks of work writing samples have gone from choppy streaming examples. He struggled for hours to write 10 sentences and lacked focus because it was so overwhelming.  Now he can belt out 30 to 50 sentences and deliver the producers shared below in a couple hours.

In addition to his creative writing, Tilden has been exploring the world of electronically generated and shared documents.  Below is a sample of dictated document using google slides and the native microphone.  Then he copied and pasted the story into an email on his chrome book.  Three weeks ago, Tilden didn't know how to use email, google slides/docs, know how to dictate into his WiFi phone or google docs...

Tilden is also practicing typing skills M-F for 30 min.

Our goal is to be able to type a 50 sentence story using his chrome book inside a single hour.  Then serious research projects - not sure if we need to take a break and introduce a foreign language and some interesting science projects first or not.  Weather is changing and the idea of being outside gets more and more exciting,  But we are definitely make huge strides in the language arts department.  Exciting stuff!!!

Subject: Talking animals

There was a Boy. The boy was named Tim. He was kind. He was loving. He also knew how to do magic. He had a father. He had a mother. The father's name was Tom. The mother's name was Samantha. One day, while Tim was on his bike he saw a bird that said, " hello there, Tim". Tim was confused, birds don't talk. So he said, "hi bird." The bird said, "hello there, my name is Chirpy. Tim turned and laughed a little. He said, "Why don't you chirp," and the second he said that the bird began to chirp. He didn't think that all animals could speak but they wanted to hide their identity from the humans. So Tim said, "I know you can speak Chirpy." He kept talking to him and they started a conversation. After the conversation was done, Tim asked if all animals can talk. Chirpy said, "yes, except for turtles". Tim said, "thank you". Then he rode off to the pet store. When he got to the store he looked at fish, turtles, parrots, dogs and cats. He talked to most of the animals, but most of them denied that he could hear them, especially turtles, because he tried to talk to a turtle but the turtle kept denying that he heard Tim. When Tim left the pet store he got onto his bike. But before he left, he saw a dog waving to him. He waved back and rode off. He rode to his friends. He wanted to tell them that he could hear and talk to animals. When he got to this friends' fort, he said that he heard animals, but his friends didn't believe him, so when he talked to the dog, the dog said, "hello" to him. His friends jumped! They could hear the dog. One of his friends said, "hi", but the dog didn't understand him. So when Tim translated, the dog told them his name was Sergeant Ruff. Tim asked Sergeant Ruff what the names of the other dogs were. Sergeant Ruff said, "Sergeant Ruff the II, and Sergeant Ruff the…"  Tim asked Sergeant Ruff if all dogs were named Sergeant Ruff. He said, "yes". So when Tim left the fort he waved to all his friends and the dog, "Goodbye," and went home. (38)

Pottery Teacher Report

Pottery Lesson

pottery is going very well.  Not all days are making dishes and pots.  This last week tilden was the assistant for the teacher as she offered lessons to a homeschooling group in a neighboring town.

Tilden was able to share all he’s been learning along with all the prep and cleanup.  Really, tilden is getting an education in the business of pottery too.  An experience that continues to motivate him and fill him with connection to the trade.

Bonus of course was him finding students that he was able to connect with.  We called one friend he’d made but found that the mother was not able to make time for play dates presently.  However Tilden is still glad to be assisting in the follow-up class in two weeks where they glaze their creations.

Ki Society - Aikido

Tilden and I have discovered an incredible martial arts school.  Late December we visisted the Ki Sociaty - https://yelp.to/qTKq/luYO9STCcU - and found incredible teachers and students.

I bought Tilden a new gi for Christmas and he fit it perfectly.  He started attending Wednesday’s at 6:30 PM.  And with his teachers amazement at his quick learning and keen focus he was quickly invited to intermediate practices on Sat at 9:30.  He has a great partner, a yellow belt named Eshlyn, that drills with him as they prepare together for this quarters area meet.

Instructors are kind yet very firm.  The expect focus at every moment, calling it the “one point” and regularly check students with a tap to the shoulder to see that they are in a state of inner strength.  There is some golfing at the beginning of the class to rally students and assess their spirits.  But afterwards it’s rolling and hand techniques that whirl and flip opponents in a beautiful dance.  There are no kicks or punches...  for now it’s discipline and trained moevwments.  :)

Guitar Lessons - started in Jan

we found a great teacher and are enjoying his lessons after Tilden was gifted a guitar in December.  He presently attends lessons Friday’s at 2:30 and practices daily with Granny for 20-30 min.  Tilden is presently coming along in practicing notes, stringing notes together and strumming.  Most days he loves it but there are days that it’s not as interesting.  Nick Rivard - +1 (541) 602-9162 - , his teacher, says that shortly the fundamentals will come together and music will be the result.  We are super excited to see it come together!!!

It’s been a while coming!!!  We had some upsets with online schooling, where Tilden fell behind.  But after being given the motivation of a ski trip to HOODOO, He worked really hard and caught up by the end of December.  I blocked off some time from work and made a day just for fun - Father and Son - https://skihoodoo.com/

First, Tilden tried snowboarding lessons.  But after an hour of frustration he went back to smoke.  He’d only been on skis once the year prior but seems to enjoy growing in the direction for now.

What beautiful day for us.  So tired and so worth it!!!
