Hatchet chap 17/18

Now with everything destroyed, Brian had to rebuild his camp. It wasn't hard for Brian because everything was on the ground from the tornado, and it ripped through all the trees. Once he rebuilt his camp he wanted to scavenge what was in the plane, but to do that he needed to craft a raft. When he finished he realized it was super hard to pedal so he waited in till the morning. When he got to the plane he tried to find out a way to get in. Out of frustration he punched the plane and he realized he dented the plane, so he got his hatchet and went to work. Once he got a big enough hole to go through swimming and search for a bag. It was very mysterious there and when he found it, he was in terror because he also found the pilot's skull and realized that the fish he was eating was the pilot.

Hatchet

Now Brian had a good food source, but he wanted to kill one of those annoying birds that he always heard. When he went hunting for the obnoxious birds he couldn't see them until it was too late, because they blended into the environment spectacularly. When he had given up he laid down next to a tree and rested for a while. When he looked to his left he saw one of the annoying birds and it flew away instantaneously. While it was flying he could see the shape and size of it and thought that he could try again and this time try and spot the bird in a new and different way. This time he spotted the birds. They were all over the place, in the bushes, the trees, and even on the ground. He saw that when he walked straight to the bird they would fly away. So with that in mind he found a way to get close enough to the Birds by walking in a zigzag, but never Straight. Later that day while he was washing blood from his arrows because he killed the bird a moose came up from behind and attacked him, he survived but his ribs were in pain. When he got back to the house, he went to sleep. When he awoke he heard a noise and realized it was a tornado and it destroyed his house and fire. Finally when it died out he realized he had to start from scratch again.

As Brian watched the water ripple, he held his bow and aimed at the fish. He let go of the string, but then it almost made his blind because it recoil. When he got to his he made his bow look better as well as make it more stable as well. When he aimed at the fish, but right as he was about to shoot he remembered something about how the water reflects the fish, so he aimed a little down and hit the fish. When he saw that he caught it Brian was so proud, he ran to the fire and cooked the fish. When it was done cooking it tasted so amazing that he kept hunting and cooking the fish over and over again.

Watch "Andres Amador on Ocean Beach - 4K Aerial Drone Video" on YouTube

https://youtu.be/tEEJnK6h040 ....I bumped into more sand art. I enjoyed it. I hope you do too!

Please watch You Tube video:  "Art with Trista-Texture Hunt"

Today we are going to practice doing rubbings with your oil crayons, copy paper, and the textures you find to use.  Completely cover 2 cooy papers with at least 5 different textures each.  That's a total of 10 different textured items you will rub.  You can use one item repeatedly on the same page. That page will still need 4 more different texture rubbings.

Use one color crayon in deep contrast to the white paper.  Black is the greatest contrast to white.  Other dark colors are also good.  Do not use white, yellow or any pale color for this assignment.

Enjoy!

Back to School!

Good morning kiddos!

Today is the first day back after a relaxed couple of weeks.  Here are a couple of reminders:

Your tasks are in the calendar.  The chores list has been updated for the week.

Most things are the same.

You will be doing some Time4Learning math this week.  We want you to do like before where you work entirely together to complete the math lessons & quizzes.  Each day is assigned a "week" in T4L.

7,500 steps

Health journals need to be completed much more carefully this week.  We are looking to see regular entries and most (if not all cells) complete.

You are welcome to start your free time/privileges when everything is done for the day.  Make it a great day!!

Brian made a spear and tried to catch a fish. He plunged the spear into the water but would never hit a fish. That's when he thought to make a bow an arrow, because the fish were too fast. When he found the right tree he heard an engine and looked to see a plane. He dropped everything and ran to his house to get a fire going to signal the pilot.

Very nice! You picked upon the dots used to hide the secret stories of
Aboriginal Art.  Is there a secret story beneath your dots?  Hope you had fun.

Brian had things to do. He transferred all the eggs into a little hole next to where he slept. Then he cleaned up his little home, basically he hung up his windbreaker to dry from all the raspberry juice. When he went to get a drink from the lake he realized his reflection was way different from before. While he was there he saw a fish, he tried to catch the fish, but it just swam away. He thought of making a food source of fish and making a way to catch them.

Hatchet

Brian kept having to feed the fire because he didn't want it to die. The sun was hot on his back, but the fire made it scorching all over. Before he went to sleep he got a big dead tree and cut it into pieces. In the middle of the night he heard a hiss like the porcupine, but didn't know what it was. When it went back into water he went back to sleep. The next day he went to check the fire, it was out, but they were still hot coals to start it up again. Secondly he went to where the mysterious creature was and looked in the sand and for tracks. When he found some damp sand he dug up about 4 inches, and saw that there were turtle eggs. He ate one, then another, and then soon enough he ate 6 out of the 17.

The reason why I picked this for my third one is because it reminds me of the caveman back in the past and tribes in food distributing out throughout them. And I didn’t know that

Brian awoke to a noise in his home. He was so scared that he threw his ax at the noise, made a bunch of sparks, and kicked the thing. As soon as he did Brian got a leg full of porcupine needles and it scurried away. Later, once he took out all the needles, he thought about what he needed. He had water, berries, but now he needed fire. He saw when he threw the ax at the porcupine it made sparks and he would try with that.

Brian went to go pick some of the berries that he found yesterday. That is when he decided that he was going to look for some new berries because those were disgusting. As he looked around he saw snaped trees where his plane had gone into the lake and checked it out. When he was looking he saw this bush and when he looked there was a raspberry bush. He was so excited that he started stuffing his face full of raspberries. When he looked around he saw this huge, Black, scary bear looking right at him. As the bear inspected Brian he was terrified, He couldn't move his legs, his hands or anything for that matter. When the bear was done it went back to picking raspberries. Without a second to think he ran to his shelter, when he started thinking again he decided to go back because he didn't want to eat anymore of those disgusting berries. when he got back he didn't see the bear and started picking them and putting them in his wind blocker.

A well known king was famous for documenting everything for history. Games became very popular throughout Spain, ball games one of the first. There was a story where a king died from drinking too much cold water after a hot game. The second one was bullfighting. They even went as far as to breed the perfect bull. Finally there was chess, it originated south of Spain. They didn't like that it was of humans so they made their own design. They traded jewelry, tools, mettles, and other necessities that they had. The most valuable was Spanish sheep! The reason was no one else had the sheep and it wasn't itchy.

As Brian was walking he was very thirsty, his lips were dry and cracking, and his throat was as dry as a dessert. He was walking along a lake/river, but he was worried that it was toxic. Later he saw a beaver get into the river and thought it would be ok if he took a sip, but as soon as he took that sip he couldn't stop drinking. A few minutes after he started to have a clear mind since the crash, also Brian threw up because he drank too much. He thought about shelter and food. He wanted to build a lean-to because he remembered that Brian and his friend would discuss being stranded. The only difference was that they would have a bunch of survival gear and he only had a hatchet. While he was searching for food he saw a big wall of bushes and went to it, he heard bunches of birds and some he didn't know. When he got there he got these glistening red berrys. Once he had eaten until his heart's content, he took off his wind breaker and filled it. When he got to where he would make his campsite a bunch of bugs came and swarmed him.

When Brian crashed he Miraculously survived. He didn't have any broken or sprained body parts, except for his head, it throb every time he moved and it Aced so much. What he got on land because his plane crashed in a lake he got enough strength to sit up against a tree. It wasn't the middle of the night, but the sun wasn't up yet and a swarm of bugs came and feasted on him. When the sun came out all of the bugs disappeared and vanished, when that happened he thought, vampires. When he started walking he could hear beautiful noises, the birds singing the fish jumping in and out of the water but all he could see in here was them mixed together and these new colors of green and blue mixing because he was so tired. So with that he laid down and went to sleep.

Hatchet 1&2

A boy named Brian was going to see his father. While they were thousands feet above he was in the copilot seat. That would normally be super cool, but all that he could think about was " divorce," "The secret," and "the split."Then he remembered how his mother drove his to the airport, and before Brian got on the plane she gave him a paper sack and inside was a hatchet. When he getting onto the other plane he was completely Oblivious to the hatchet in his belt. A couple hours in the pilot thought his chest was opening, that's when Brian realized that it was a heart attack. Then the pilot heart stopped. Brian was in shock for a couple of minutes. Finally he got the strength and picked up the headphones and the radio and tried to talk to anyone.

A famous warrior fought for the Christians many times. When the Christians found out what the warrior did he was banished. Then he went to a Muslim kingdom and fought other Muslims and Christians. After many many battles the warrior was assassinated, but not before he had a child. A few generations later a brave warrior wasn't gifted gold or anything of the sort, he was gifted the hand of a princess.

Happy Monday!

Good morning, Kiddos!

This week we are starting something a little different.  If you look at your google calendars you will see the items you need to complete each day along with specifically scheduled classes and events.

The ones before you wake in the morning are in those spots only to be read more easily but, they are just telling you the things that you must complete at some point in the day.  We are not requiring them at a scheduled time.

We want you to get good at checking emails (and deleting them) as well as checking your calendars.  Each day you must carefully read the calendar for times.  Everything changes day to day just like our location.

Please don't forget that you are still required to get at least 5k steps and post it as well as keep up on your health journal.  We would like to see more complete entries this week.  Please work harder at filling in all the boxes and using good detail.

We will watch "Where the Red Fern Grows" this evening to celebrate your finishing that book!

You will be starting "Hatchet" today.  The chapters are shorter so you will be assigned two per day instead of one like before.  I'm already on chapter 5 ;).

As for chores, we will be working on a system for assigning those today.  For now, go with what you regularly do on a Monday morning.

Make it a great day!

The first one is the race, they have dwarfs, orces, elf's, half elves, and many more, I chose the half elf because of its abilities. Then there's classes. I chose Rogue because it fits well with the half elf. Also equipment again I chose mounts and vehicles because we will probably need speed. Overall I thought I chose a good combo for me

There was a woman that made many poems and wore transparent clothing that she made and who won many wars. There were many other people that had a talent for helping people. Some even helped learn about the world, for example, a person that was a doctor in a way. Also there was someone who was a mathematician and he made the Roman numerals. Lastly the typhuses were very rich and had magnificent gardens that look like the heavens, but it was a lot of money to keep it going.

Billy thought that most of his family would be sad but it was the exact opposite, especially his mother as they were packing. Before they would go Billy wanted to say goodbye to his dogs. When he got there he saw a bush and wanted to cut it down, but before Billy did he saw it was a red fern and remembered the legend. He called his mother and showed her, when she saw this she cried then when the others came they cried too. After they all climb up onto the wagon. Finally with tears in Billy's eyes he heard his mother ask him if he saw the fern, and with that he looked up and saw it.

School day 3/2

Let's do it! Let's try working outside of a scripted schedule. Get your assignments, figure out how to work together when needed, and manage all of that around our commutes, the tides (for walking the beach), and life's endless appointments.

Today.
We are leaving the coast at 9:00
In the car we will do social studies.
You can read the next chapter of your book.
Catch up on your journal
And do the everyday Spanish and Typing lessons please.

Remember.
Do your best. Bedtimes are determined by your show of honor, compassion towards one another, quality of work, and attention to duties.
